The Division of Student Life Staff Development Committee is responsible for providing opportunities for connection, community, and learning to Division staff members.
Our vision is to provide a well-rounded experience for DSL staff members so that they enjoy their work, appreciate staff development opportunities, connect with colleagues across the Division, and gain skills to further their good work here or elsewhere.
Transfer Student Roundtable
2/5/19, MGC Room, IMU, 11 AM-12 Noon
Roundtable discussions are a loosely structured conversation that provide a chance to share your own experiences, learn from your colleagues, and connect across the division. Based on principles of Open Space Technology, “whoever comes are the right people”, “whatever happens is the only thing that could have happened”. This roundtable discussion is a chance to reflect on the unique experience of transfer students at the University of Iowa. Bring ideas and challenges related to supporting transfer students on campus. Strategize with colleagues about ways to strengthen and develop initiatives that will help all transfer students to thrive in their new Hawkeye home. This session will also include a Q&A with current transfer students. No registration required.
If you would like to find out more about our committee or would like to be involved, please contact Committee Chairs Carol Rose (email@example.com) or Patrick Rossmann (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The Staff Development Committee is open to Graduate, Merit, and Professional & Scientific staff members within the Division of Student Life regardless of job classification. The committee encourages representation from all Departments within the Division. For more information about current members, check out the About the Staff Development Committee page!
Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events.
